December 26, 1945 - August 3, 2019
Was a devoted husband and father. He gave himself fully and selflessly to his wife, Luz, of 41 years, to his two daughters, Carolina and Adriana, to his sons in law Luis and Carlos, and to his four grandchildren,
Alejandro, David, Gabriela and Lucía. He also cared deeply for his eight siblings, his nephews, his nieces, his extended family members and his friends.
Our father was born and raised in Cali, Colombia. He also lived for many years in New York City, where he studied accounting, and lived the rest of his life in Orlando and then Tampa.
He had a kind and friendly spirit, and loved making jokes and making people laugh. He was an avid reader, loved music, dancing, and singing karaoke. He was a soccer aficionado, and was Head Coach in Colombia for teams composed of retired national team's soccer players, where he also met one of the greatest soccer players of all time and his idol, Pelé.
Our father was also an animal lover, and he especially loved dogs, and had many different breeds throughout his life.
Perhaps his greatest quality was how charitable he was, always being willing to help
others who were less fortunate than him. He enjoyed donating to charities in Colombia for the elderly.
Our father was also a very spiritual man, who believed in life after death. He would always like to read about this topic. We feel peace knowing that he is in a beautiful place at this time, with those he loved and who loved him back. He will be dearly missed and loved forever.
