

Catherine S. "Kitty" Owen, age 88, of Largo, Florida. She was our devoted and loving mother who went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, July 19, 2012. She was born in Pittsylvania County, Virginia to the late John Alexander Snow and Sallie Shelton Snow. Kitty was a graduate of Phillips Business College, Lynchburg, Virginia. She married William Leroy Owen on December 11, 1946, who in 2004, preceded her in death. Kitty moved from Lynchburg, VA. to Winter Haven, Florida in 1981. She also resided in Lakeland before moving to Largo in 2011. She was a member of Winter Haven Baptist Church. Her greatest love was her family and church.
Kitty is survived by her devoted and loving children, son, Stephen L. Owen and fiancee Deborah Ingram of Birmingham, AL; daughter, Joan Owen Sykes of Lakeland, Fl; daughter, and son-in-law, Cheryl and Stephen Kisner of Largo, Fl; one grandson, Brandon Scott Owen of Birmingham, AL; one granddaughter, Tiffany Sykes Badcock of Lakeland, FL; one great-grandaughter, Penelope Badcock of Lakeland, FL; Kitty is also survived by one sister, Frances Snow Watlington of Fort Myers, FL; brother-in-law, James Lowell Owen of Appomattox, VA; two sister-in-laws, Elizabeth Owen Brooks McMaster of Danville, VA; and Rebecca Owen Edwards of Dameron, MD.;and many nieces and nephews.In addition to her parents and her husband, she was preceded in death by three sisters and six brothers. Kitty was the youngest of eleven children.
The family will receive friends at 1:00-3:00 pm on Sunday, July 22nd at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 693 S. Belcher Road in Clearwater, Florida. A Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, July 24th at 2:00 pm at Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell, Florida.In lieu of flowers, donations in Kitty's memory can be made to Heron House Indian Rocks Assisted Facility, 2050 East Bay Drive, Largo, FLorida 33771 or Suncoast Hospice Foundation, 5771 Roosevelt Blvd., Clearwater, Florida 33760-9962. The family wishes to extend thanks to Dr. Kavita Rao and staff, Dr. David Silverstein, Suncoast Hospice House Woodside and to Heron House Indian Rocks Assisted Living's Administation, Beth, Amy and Dave; nurses, Crystal, Angie and Katie; nursing staff and all staff and special friend, Gigi for their excellent care and compassion for our beloved mother.
