Murphy, David E., 88, of St. Petersburg, died Tuesday, November 3, 2015 at The Fountains. Born in Detroit, MI he retired from the railroad to Florida. He was a U.S. Navy vet who fought in WWII and Korea and remained active as a volunteer with the US Coast Guard. He was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy. He is survived by his daughters, Dava O’Connor and Sheri Murphy; and a sister, Shirley Murphy. A service will be held at 2pm on Monday, 11/9 Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home.
