

Palms of Largo, passed away peacefully at home on February 24,
2021. Dave was born in Pittsburgh, PA on March 7, 1933 to David
and Della Easton Thomas. He married Elinor “Nell” Thomas on April
19, 1956. They have two daughters, Cindy Thomas of Pinellas Park;
and Kathryn Thomas of Covington, KY, married to Michael Beeby.
Dave was very proud of his grandsons, Todd Beeby of Houston, TX,
married to Sarah Crulcich; and Joel Beeby of Brooklyn, NY.
Dave graduated from Mt. Lebanon High School and attended Thiel
College and the University of Pittsburgh. He pursued a career as a
Sound Engineer and was a natural salesman. He combined these
skills to establish his own business, Daltco, Inc. in Pennsylvania in
1970. Dave and Nell relocated the business to Dunedin in 1978. The
company designed and installed sound systems for hundreds of
schools, hospitals, churches and auditoriums across Pennsylvania
and Florida. Dave installed the sound system at NASA in Cocoa, FL,
and was asked to record his voice for the facility’s emergency
announcements.
In 2013, Dave and Nell were inducted into the Dunedin Senior Hall of
Fame in honor of their volunteer services in the community. Dave was
a 32nd Degree Mason and a member of Dormont Lodge in Pittsburgh.
He was proud to be approaching his 60th year as a Mason. He was a
member of First Presbyterian Church in Dunedin, and for 25 years
was a member of Dunedin North Rotary Club, where he served as
song leader. He was an avid landscaper, especially with azaleas.
Dave was a dedicated fan of Pittsburgh sports teams, and operated a model railroad for his 1938 Lionel O-gauge train.
