Dennis W Bechtel

Dennis Bechtel was born November 29, 1932 in Elyria Ohio to the late Nelson and Hazel Bechtel. At the age of 13 his family moved to Clearwater, Florida where he graduated from Clearwater High School. He then joined the Navy and proudly served our country for four years. Upon completion of his service, Dennis entered the University of Florida and earned a Bachelor of Building Construction Degree. After graduation he worked in the Bahamas for Paul Smith Construction Company. He also worked for Western Electric on Ascension Island in South Atlantic for three years working on the Nike-Zeus Nuclear Project. When the project was completed, Dennis came back to Patrick Air Force Base. After coming home, he met and married his wife, Wilma of 53 years and they have two children, Susan and Dallas. He spent the remainder of his career in construction; working with commercial contractors as a senior estimator. Later in his years, working in the construction business, he got his General Contractor License. He was also a member of the American Society of Professional Estimators. Dennis Bechtel was not only a successful businessman, but was also a loving, devoted family man. He is a member of First Baptist Church of Indian Rocks and served in the church. He was very proud of his family. Susan is married to Brendon Walker and live in the Panhandle of Florida with their animals and enjoys taking care of them. Dallas married Barbara Doudna and they have two children, William, 19 yrs old, and Andrew, 16 yrs old who he was very proud to be their Grandaddy and he loved them very much.
