Donald J. Ferguson

Donald "Don" J Ferguson, age 86, of Oldsmar, Florida passed away on Wednesday December 19, 2018. Don was born March 26, 1932 to Ruth and Frank Ferguson in Wilkes-Barre, PA. He was one of four children; siblings are Bob, Peggy and Ruthann. Don had a great childhood. He was smart, driven, handsome and stubborn! Don graduated from Camp Hill High School, Vice President of his class. He attended Villanova University and graduated with a Bachelor in Business. During his summers at Villanova, he installed telephone poles. His sweetheart was Joyce, they married in 1954 and went on to have 5 beautiful children. Don was a proud Republican American and served our country in the US Army overseas in Europe, 1954-1956. After serving, Don worked as a lineman at Ohio Bell. He moved his family to Suffern, NY in 1972, where he worked as a Budget Manager at AT&T's main headquarters on Broadway in New York City. He was extremely successful and retired at the age of 52. Don was the type of person that could not sit still for long, so after retirement he worked as a property appraiser. In 1995 he moved to Florida and worked along side his sons at J&B Produce. Perfectionist by nature he would stand in the back room packaging the produce meticulously, often listening to Rush Limbaugh or dancing to music. Don loved the game of golf, and his idol was Arnie Palmer. When he moved to Florida, he played every Tuesday and Thursday at the Silverdollar, with his friends Tom and Bob.

Don is predeceased by his Wife, Joyce, his Daughter Lisa, his Grandson Jimmy, and his Daughter in law, Sue. He is survived by his siblings; Bob, Peggy and Ruthann, his Children; Donna (Tango), Joe (Kim), Jim (Rose) and Bill, his Grandchildren; Janelle, Jillian, Lee, Brian, Erica (Jason), Tanya (Kevin), Frankie, and Nina and his seven great grandchildren, Tyler, Adalynn, Emalee, Grayson, Luca, Rose and Lilianna. Don, an amazing man and devout Catholic will be greatly missed. His spirit and ability to always make light of a situation with laughter was so special. We will take comfort knowing that he is reuniting and dancing with Joyce.

A visitation for "Don" will be held Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM at Sylvan Abbey - Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Rd., Clearwater, Florida 33759. A funeral service will occur Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 12:00 PM to 1:00 PM at Espiritu Santo Catholic Church, 2405 Phillippe Parkway, Safety Harbor, FL 34695. A committal service will occur Saturday, December 29, 2018 from 1:15 PM to 1:45 PM at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, 2860 Sunset Point Rd, Clearwater, FL 33759. A burial will occur at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, 2860 Sunset Point Rd, Clearwater, Florida 33759.
