Edward Dennis Downes

of Clearwater passed peacefully, after a courageous battle with leukemia, surrounded by his loving family Thursday July 18th at home. Born August 25th 1939 in Chicago, Illinois he was the son of the late John A. and Esther Weekly Downes.

He was a faithful servant to his country in the USMC and his hometown, Chicago where he was a police office for 30 years in the Chicago PD.

He is survived by his loving wife of 51 years Nancy Downes of Clearwater, daughters Maureen (Ken) Martin, Anne (Bob) Sterczek and Kelly Downes, grandchildren Liam, Tess, Caleb and Madeleine and sister Juliana Schnoor of Chicago.

He lives on in our hearts, and until we meet again, we know he waits for us in good company, with those who preceded him, including: parents John and Esther; brothers and sisters: Jackie Downes, Mary F. Arnold, Peggy Wolfe, Esther Josephine Mallamad, Patsy Nemes, Raymond Downes, Kathleen Stevens and Leonard Downes.

A funeral service will be held 11:00 am Monday July 22nd at Light of Christ Catholic Church, Clearwater. Visitation will be 9-10:30am Mon at the Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 693 S. Belcher Rd. Clearwater.
