

Emmanuela (Lily) Micallef, age 92, of Clearwater, Florida passed away peacefully at home in the care of EmPath Hospice on Sunday, August 13, 2023. Lily was born on May 24, 1931 in Senglea, Malta. Beloved wife of the late Dominic Micallef. Loving mother of Carmen Schade (David) and the late Denise Mansyur (Manny). After immigrating to Ontario, Canada in 1950, Lily met and married the love of her life, Dominic on November 24, 1951 and remained together to celebrate 56 years of marriage. They moved to Livonia, Michigan to raise their two daughters where Lily was a homemaker and mother while Dominic worked for GM until he retired. She also spent many years keeping house for the rectory of St. Gerald Church in Farmington, Michigan. Lily enjoyed cruising and traveling as much as she and Dominic could. Upon retirement they moved to Hudson Florida and then to Clearwater. Lily enjoyed her senior retirement community and played Bingo, attended senior dances and, swam in the community pool most every day. She took great pride in her attire and accessories. She had a great style and fashion sense. She had a lively and infectious positive energy. Lily will be remembered for her devotion to her Catholic faith and being a small person with a giant heart. There will be a Memorial Mass held for Emmanuela at 11:00 am on Friday, September 1, 2023 at St Michael the Archangel Catholic Church (2281 State Rd 580, Clearwater, FL 33763). There will be a graveside service to follow at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park (2860 Sunset Point Rd., Clearwater, FL 33759) and reception at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home. For those who are not attending the graveside committal, the reception will be open for guests to arrive at the funeral home.
