Forest was born on January 16, 1936, to Forest (Bud) and Florence (Burley)
Thibideau in Gardner, ND. He graduated from the University of North Dakota
with a degree in Engineering, after serving a short period in the Navy and
receiving an honorable discharge. He met his wife and lifetime soulmate, Beverly
R. Boe, in Pelican Rapids, MN, where they were married June 15, 1957.
Forest was a servant of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. He was a member of
First Lutheran Church in Clearwater for almost 20 years where he attended with
his family and served as a church Elder, and more recently a member of Bethel
Lutheran Church in Clearwater.
Forest had a distinguished career at General Electric, ultimately retiring as Chief
Engineer of the Neutron Devices Department, where he received numerous
awards, including a design and development Excellence in Engineering Award.
Forest was an avid supporter of Tampa BayWatch and its mission to protect and
restore Florida's coastal habitats. He volunteered once a week for many years
with them after his retirement. He also loved golf, fly fishing, travels with his
wife, kayaking and tending his backyard garden.
Forest is survived by his wife, Beverly, his children; Mark (Cathi) Thibideau, Jackie
(Gary) LeFleur, Joni Bowen and Juli Martin, his brothers; Dennis (Rosemary)
Thibideau and Jerry (Lori) Thibideau, six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren
and fourteen nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother,
Larry Thibideau.
Forest will be honored at a memorial service at Sylvan Abbey, 2860 Sunset Point
Rd., Clearwater on Monday, November 1, at 12:30 p.m., followed by a reception.
