Ginger Lauren Bordlemay was a faithful Christian, wife, and mother. She had a kind heart that loved life and loved living it to the fullest. She loved to laugh and talk and be with her family. She loved God with all her heart and was pure and good for her whole life. She was a selfless and fun soul that was fun to be around and created the happiest and warmest home.
Ginger had deep and special family relationships. Her two loving parents were William Joseph Venable and Montez Tarvin Venable. She had three brothers, Mark, Clay, and Cole and a younger sister, Paige. Ginger also had a strong bond with all of her nieces and nephews. Her favorite night of the year was always Christmas Eve where all the family gathered together. She loved the night that all of her family ate the famous oyster stew and spaghetti. She brought her great company with all the laughs and Russell Stovers chocolate she could give. She prepared all month finding the perfect outfit, that she always wore so beautifully, to that special night. She cooked and baked just to see her families smiles on their faces as they tasted her amazing cooking. If Ginger was there, it was going to be a happy and fun time. She had an infectious laugh and amazing sense of humor that made camping trips, cruises, and all kinds of getaways, be filled with the best kind of joy. She loved her family very deeply and made a lasting impression of joy, warmth, laughter, and love.
Ginger graduated from Northeast High School in 1979. She enjoyed some courses more than others, having favorite classes and teachers. Her favorite class in high school was chorus, and her least favorite was math. The teacher she enjoyed learning from the most was Mrs. Velma Rowe, her chorus teacher. Ginger also performed well in college. She earned her Associate of Arts at Florida College and was on the Kappa Omicron society. She was an beautiful singer in the chorus, soloist on multiple occasions, and an accomplished quartet member. Ginger could bring a breath of fresh air to any room she was in.
Ginger was socially resourceful, an expressive person who was willing to try new things. These qualities drew a lively circle of good quality friends around her. Many people remember her infectious laugh, her amazing sense of humor, and her great company. While growing up, some of her best friends were Kim LaBuda and Kristy Newton. Later in life, she became friends with Anita Whitworth Allen, Sonja Duncan Pierce, Kathy Duncan, Donna Duncan, Aimee Cotton Pickup, Sherry Smith. She was a loyal friend who cared about her loved ones very deeply.
On November 2nd, 1985 Ginger exchanged wedding vows with Robert Edwin Bordlemay at Feathersound Community Church of FL. Ginger was a devoted wife and loved Bob with all of her heart and then some. To the end of her days, she looked at Bob with love and adoration in her eyes. There was nothing she loved more than seeing Bob walk through the door and making him dinner and enjoying her evenings with him. There are not enough words to describe how lovingly Bob and Ginger's vows have been carried out. She truly loved him with an adoring love.
Ginger was blessed with two children, a daughter, Alexandria Grace and her son, Robert Paul. Ginger had a passion for being a parent and would do anything for her children. Ginger was always at all of her daughter's choir performances cheering her on with the proudest smile in the audience. She was always at Paul's sporting games with a noisemaker and a huge smile on her face. She would always make sure her kids had new school outfits, helped them participate in fun homecoming events, drove them where they wanted to go no matter how inconvenient it was for her, and loved seeing them grow up with smiles on their faces. She loved them deeply and always wanted the best for them. She was a strong and selfless woman who raised a strong daughter and a strong son. She cultivated such a warm and happy home.
Ginger was a hard worker and longed to always provide the best for her family. She was employed for a company called Christmas Around the World as an accomplished business woman and then later became a teacher for children with special needs. Some of her most prestigious awards included a nomination for Teacher of the Year for Pinellas County School System. Students would often find her in Publix when she was grocery shopping and light up with glee and run to hug their favorite teacher, Mrs. Bordlemay. She made a difference everyday in her students lives and her fellow teacher's lives.
Ginger was an easy going and go-with-the-flow kind of girl. When on vacations with her husband, she often was the first to jump into a parade for fun, go on fun excursions during cruises, and happily participated in many once in a lifetime opportunities. Ginger truly took every moment to remember that life was short and acted with such a joy and zest for life. While at home, she understood the little things mattered to her and her family. Her absolute favorite pursuits were spending time with family, cooking, baking, and reading. She made every moment of her and her family's life be as sacred as they all should be. Whether it was sitting at the dinner table, she urged her family to turn off their phones, eat the entirety of the meal together, and talk about each and every part of their days. She also loved watching football with her husband and getting out to Tampa Bay Rays baseball games with her husband Bob. Her life was a happy one and homey one.
Having the opportunity to visit and explore a new place always intrigued Ginger. She valued the fact that she only had one life and longed to live it to the fullest. Traveling and going away on vacations offered yet another opportunity for Ginger to expand her ever-growing love of life. Ginger fell in love with traveling and loved every minute of it. She loved every minute of traveling and the exciting moments that came with it, all while traveling with her lifelong best friend and love, Bob. Ginger's favorite vacations included Paris, Switzerland, Venice, Rome, and an Alaskan Cruise. The stories they both have from all of their travels could not be held in any book, and no book could ever show the joy they both had while they traveled the world together.
Ginger was a lover of animals and cherished her pets. One of Ginger's favorites was her cat Booger. They were best friends for a long time. She loved to hold Booger and stretch him on the fireplace just so that her family could get a laugh together. Her family was rounded out by her family cat Gonzo the Magnificent, her family cat Ruby, and her loyal dog Sadie.
Faith was the utmost priority and importance to Ginger. She was a devoted and faithful member of the church of Christ for her whole life. She was baptized at a young age and carried her faith with her for the rest of her life. Ginger worked hard to raise her children, Alexandria and Paul, in a home that was Christ-centered. No matter what the kids were doing, she always made church and Christ the highest priority. She would never miss services, the church rang with her beautiful soprano voice, and the potlucks were always served with a side of her go-to macaroni and cheese. Ginger raised two strong Christian children who carry their faith with them as their mothers did. She also was a loving deacon's wife and was an example of a strong Christian woman in her church.
Ginger passed away on November 26, 2020 at her comfortable home in her cozy living room in Clearwater, FL. It was peaceful with no pain. Her family had just finished their Thanksgiving Dinner while she laid comfortably next to them. She heard the laughing, the talking, and the love of her family all day. With the sun shining comfortably in the home, the windows open, and a gorgeous breeze in the air, she flew away to Paradise.
