We miss our dear friend Eileen.  She came into our lives in 1964.  She was a member of one of the nicest family that our family ever met.  We never really knew the true Eileen until her horrible death.  She was most humble, she defined the word professional, she was extremely accomplished and was loved and respected by all who knew her.  We feel so blessed to call her our dear and close friend. Eileen, do us one more favor, please save us a seat near the feet of Jesus, we will miss you until we see you again. Love,

When I started at MPH in 1976 you were one of the first people that I met.  I could never call you Eileen even after working around you for years it had to be Ms. Wallace.  You were one of the kindest people that I have ever known.  It was sad enough when you left MPH but now you have left this earth.  Until we meet again in heaven.  Love to you Ms. Wallace. Eileen you were a very special person and brought joy to many familes. I will never forget when you delivered April. All I remeber is yiou saying Push Betsy Push Betsy and them  in your soft voice saying Don't Push , Don't push as you caught April in your arms. Last year Rusty and I vist your wonderful country Ireland. I hope to go back this summer. Kathy my thoughts are with yo and your ffamily..I loss Rusty this year. I have thought of you and Eileen thoughout the years..

Eileen was such a great person and I feel she made the Labor and Delivery and the nursery what it is today.  She was a very caring person, so easy to work with.

Miss Wallace, Although it has been over thirty years since we worked together I will never forget your kindness and patience. I was a young nurse of 23 years of age nervous and anxious you were always there with a smile and a kind word. I have always tried to live by your example and treat others as you treated me. Through all these years I have thought of you so often, your beautiful smile and cheerful personality. You are a cherished mentor and I will mourn your loss.

Eileen was my first friend when I began working at Morton Plant Hospital 20 years ago. I will forever miss her smile. She was loved by many and will be missed by all that knew her. May she rest peacefully in the soil of her beloved Ireland.

This is all so sad. You were so wonderful to work with and for. I looked forward to seeing you at our OB mini reunions.  You began working at MPH just shortly after I did and you were always such a joy. Doris Carroza RN.

Eileen was one of Florida's founding nurse-midwives and was a vital member of one of the oldest midwifery services in the state. Her example and work to re-invent midwifery in the United States shaped the careers of many midwives. Thousands of women's lives were made better by her care. Eileen lives on through her work. We were all blessed to have known her.

Eileen,  Thanks to you one of the many things I will alway remember is that according to the Irish tradition:  you have to leave from the same door that you came in. May God welcome you through the Pearly Gates and I look forward to meeting you again when you walk back through those gates to greet all your friends who will be joining you.   You lived your life with such honor, joy and brought so many "gifts from God" into this world.  You are an example who inspires.    Taken too soon.
