She was born on September 16, 1921 in East Hereford, Quebec, a daughter to the late Moise and Rosa (Duranleau) Riendeau. She attended schools in East Hereford and Normal School in Sherbrooke. From there she taught in East Hereford before marrying Louis Beloin in 1942 and settling on a farm.
Ida came to live in the U.S. with her husband and children in the 1950’s to a farm in Beecher Falls, VT. A few years later, the family moved to Colebrook, NH where she raised her family while working at the Hill’s Department Store. In later years, she became a “snow bird” while working winters in Hollywood, FL and summers in Colebrook as a nurse’s aide until retirement when she finally settled in Palm Harbor, FL in the late 1990’s.
Throughout her life, Ida enjoyed being with her many sisters and brothers and visiting with her daughters and grandchildren. She loved music, singing, making new friends and going to the movies! She was as sweet as apple cider and also known as the “Queen of Hearts.” After heart surgery and near misses to the pearly gates, she credits her long life to her mantra of “great family & good friends, avoid stress and enjoy life as if each day was your last!”
Ida leaves behind, her two daughters Lucille Parker of Sebring, FL, and Lillian and husband James Ferraro of Bedford, NH; her three granddaughters, Claudell Parker of Franklin, NH, Melanie and husband Matthew Sanuth, of Manchester, NH, Vicki Ferraro of Clearwater, FL; three grandchildren, Jade Owusu, Christian Owusu, Peyton Sanuth; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She is pre-deceased in death by her parents, her first husband, Louis Beloin in 1964; her second husband, Albert Spaulding in 1973; her daughter Helene Beloin in 2018, and 12 siblings – George, Adhemar, Adelina, Rose, Eddy, Ovide, Florida, Estelle, Archille, Phillip, Gabrielle, and Zelire.
There are no public calling hours and a memorial service will be private. Interment will be in the East Hereford cemetery at a later date.
