James Michael Anthony

James “Jim” Anthony passed away on February 28, 2024. He was born October 22, 1958, in Daytona Beach, FL to Dorothy Von Herbulis Anthony and Robert William Anthony. He graduated from Bellarmine College in Louisville, KY and went on to work as a financial planner for 40 years.

In 1978, Jim met Lynne Unterreiner and they were married for 43 years. Together they had two children, Sean Michael Anthony, and Travis Blake Anthony. Jim was a devoted husband, father, and PopPop always putting his family first and cherishing every moment that was spent with them.

Jim was a kind, understated man who never judged a soul. He was known for his love of sports, cards, and horseracing, his bad dad jokes, and his extreme dislike of vegetables. He could talk to anyone about almost anything, like his love of the Medicare system or how to bet on the winning horse at the races. Jim will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and community.

Jim was preceded in death by his parents, Dorothy and Bob. He is survived by his wife, Lynne, his son Sean (daughter-in-law, Eileen), his son Travis (daughter-in-law, Kelly), his grandchildren, Owen, Jonathan, Mackenzie, Madalynn, and Zachary, his siblings, Linda Hill (Del), Robert Anthony (Donna), and Daniel Anthony (Janie).

A visitation for Jim will be held Sunday, March 3, 2024 from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park and Funeral Home, 2853 SUNSET POINT RD, CLEARWATER, FL 33759. A funeral service will occur Monday, March 4, 2024 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park and Funeral Home.
