

Taylor, James D. Jim, of Tampa, FL, passed away on January 29, 2015 at the age of 67. He is survived by his wife, Elsie Taylor; and his four children, Kate (Dustin) Hebrank, Kerri (Brian) Moran, Adam (Lindsey) Taylor, and Aaron (Brittney) Taylor as well as his nine grandchildren, Riley, Grant, Maggie, Tate, Nora, Peyton, Blaise, Fiona and Riordan. Jim is also survived by four of his siblings, Jane Anne (Don) Svonavec, John (Lila) Taylor, Judith Ransom and Daniel (Joan) Taylor. Jim also leaves behind many nieces, nephews and friends. Jim served the Tampa Fire Department for 30 years, retiring in 2004 as the Assistant Chief of Administration. His passions included cheering for the University of Florida football team, riding his bike on Bayshore Boulevard and fishing for snook, redfish and tarpon in the Tampa Bay with his sons and grandsons. Originally from St. Augustine, FL, Jim graduated from St. Joseph’s Academy and attended the University of South Florida in Tampa. While he is greatly missed, Jim’s competitive spirit and sense of humor lives on in his family. A private ceremony held by the family will be held at a later date.
