She was born on February 10, 1943, in Detroit, Michigan, to the late Elizabeth and Sylvester Nowak.
Jeanette lived a life rich in creativity, purpose, and love. A gifted artist and passionate educator, she dedicated over 30 years to teaching art at Clearwater Central Catholic High School, where she inspired generations of students with her talent, warmth, and unwavering encouragement.
Jeanette earned her undergraduate degree in Education from Wayne State University and went on to complete her master’s degree at the University of South Florida. Her love for the arts and adventurous spirit took her around the world — most notably to Africa in her early twenties, where she studied art and painted wildlife, an experience that shaped her creative vision for years to come.
Her artistic talents were many: from the delicate beauty of watercolor painting to the intricate craft of ceramics, pottery, and stained glass. Jeanette’s work reflected both her deep appreciation for the natural world and her unique artistic voice. She also was a talented photographer, capturing moments with the same eye for detail and beauty.
She found great joy in spending time outdoors, tenderly caring for her garden, especially her beloved roses and thriving plants. She also adored her dogs, Cali, Maximus, and Hannibal, and cherished their daily walks and quiet afternoon naps together.
Above all, Jeanette was a devoted wife, a loving mother, and a cherished sister, caring teacher and friend. Her kindness, creativity, and generous spirit touched all who knew her.
She is survived by her beloved husband of 53 years, William Joseph Gasper; her son, Jason Joseph (Suzanne) Gasper; her sisters, Dee Okerlund and Judy Michalowicz; several nieces and nephews; as well as many extended family members and lifelong friends.
A celebration of Jeanette’s life will be held at 1:00pm on Saturday, October 11, 2025 at Clearwater Central Catholic High School- James B. White Performing Arts Center (Auditorium), 2750 Haines Bayshore Rd, Clearwater, Florida 33760.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to Clearwater Central Catholic High School an organization close to their hearts.
Jeanette’s legacy lives on in every life she touched, every piece of art she created, and every student she inspired.
