WETHERINGTON, Jimmy J. 69, of Clearwater, passed away September 25, 2018. Jimmy was born on December 8, 1948 in Homerville, GA to the late Casey Jones and Minnie (Lee) Wetherington. He moved to Pinellas County with his family in 1950 and graduated from Clearwater High School.
Jimmy joined the United States Army and served in Vietnam. After his time in the Army Jimmy went to work for his older brother Donald building homes and later went into business for himself. Jimmy was a lifelong outdoorsman, he enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was very creative and loved making Christmas decorations for his family. He was a joy to be around, always making everyone around him laugh with his amazing sense of humor.
Jimmy is survived by his brother; Billy Wetherington, sisters; Elese Narum, Shirley Geiger, Mary Papp, and Janice Piatak. He is also survived by several nephews and nieces that loved him very much. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents and brother; Donald Wetherington.
A Memorial Service will be held Saturday Sept 29, 2018 at 4 PM followed by a Celebration of Life until 7 PM in Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home.
