Joseph S. " Yankee Joe" Battaglia, 90, formerly of Buffalo, NY, ended a full life on February 14, 2015. He enjoyed dancing, golf, and all sports, particularly following his beloved Yankees and Canisius Griffins. He is survived by his loving wife Lorraine "Lori", his son, Peter (Ann) Battaglia; stepchildren, Michael (April) Leake, Tammy (Tony ) Straughn; grandchildren, P. J. (Christine), Traci, Jessica Battaglia, Lizz (Jordan) Silbert, Ashlyn and Anthony Straughn ; Great-grandchildren Bridget, Paulie, Nate, Emory and Amelia. Viewing Wednesday 2/18, 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. at SylvanAbbey Funeral Home. Funeral mass to be held Thursday, 2/19, at 10 a.m. at Light of Christ. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Canisius College to benefit The Joe Battaglia Foundation.
