Joy Starr Thomas, age 81, of Belleair, Florida went to be with her Lord on October 5, 2023. Joy was born, along with her twin brother Jon, in Chicago, Illinois on October 8, 1941, to Allison and Guy Grabill. She grew up in Chicago, eventually taking classes at the University of Chicago where she met the love of her life at the age of 19. After a short engagement, Joy married her soulmate, Fredrich Albin Thomas, Jr, on June 10, 1961. Together they raised three children, Janet (Stephen), James who preceded her in death in 1981, and John (Wendy). She was blessed to have six grandchildren whom she loved dearly, Montana, Mikaela, McKenna, Harrison, Cole, and Bryson. Joy is survived by her husband, her daughter, her youngest son, six grandchildren, and other beloved family members and friends. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, and cousin; and she will be missed by those she leaves behind. A private service will be held for the immediate family at a later date.
