I was  blessed to be a patient of Dr Falla for over 25 years. He provided great,  caring, and compassion care. He was a wonderful Doctor and a great person.  Always listened to me vent, laugh and even cried with me.  My heart was broken when I heard of his passing and I pray God will comfort his family in this difficult time. So sad to hear of his passing.  I played softball with him and he was also my primary doctor and I appreciated how he took care of all his patients. Heaven is receiving a wonderful man. Condolences to mother wife and family.

What can I say about Dr. Falla that hasnt been repeated here , over and over. We stayed  with him from Cigna, and into the Private Practice. He was a true family doctor… and although we did not socialize, he had such a lasting and irreplaceable impact on our entire family. My heart broke when he had to retire, and replacing him has been impossible. I prayed for him, wondered how he was doing, and something made me google his name, and there was his obituary. Needless to say I grieve for a man who was truly an angel, and is now what I feel is a guardian angel to all who loved him. And I have confidence he is now free from his suffering. Rest in Peace Dr. Falla, you are sorely missed.

In today's world of rushing, rudeness, lack of civility and only caring for oneself, Juan was the exception, a shining example of caring, kindness, compassion, and passion...passion for his family, his Catholic faith and his patients...maybe even his competitive spirit for his softball falls in that category. A man for others. A true gentleman, genteel in every aspect of life.
Our friendship with Juan and Fifi dates back to the days at St. Cecelia when Laura and Eric attended school there along with our kids, then later on at CCC. Over the years, he became my physician, a consummate professional. Never rushed, always very thorough and always allocating ample time to talk about our kids and our all too brief time playing FHC senior softball as teammates and competitors. Juan was always a class act.
His time on this earth was cut short. His impact on so many of us was powerful and will live on, for all those who were lucky enough to know him and call him a friend.

TJ and I were blessed to meet Juan when he and Fifi began dating, and TJ and I were dating in college. We attended their wedding and to this day we talk about what a beautiful couple they were and how much fun we had. From the moment we met Juan we knew he was a very special person. When Juan and Fifi led the NJ exodus to FL, our extended families became even closer. Juan was like a son and on-call physician to my parents, doctor and friend to my brother Jorge and godfather to my nephew Preston. The ties between the Falla and Marzol families run long and deep, and the loss of both Juan Jr. and Sr. in such a short period of time is a pain no family should endure. 

We deeply mourn Juan’s passing and our hearts ache for the enormous loss suffered by his beloved family and all his many friends and patients.  

Juan is with God now, and for all that mourn the loss of someone so young, special and full of life before his illness, the words of Psalm 34:18 seem apt:  “The Lord is close to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit.”

A gift to the ALS Association has been made in Juan’s memory.

💔 In Remembrance of My Dear Friend

On November 25th, I lost one of the greatest friends of my youth—a brother by every measure except blood. We met in high school and carried that bond through college, through every growing pain and every ridiculous adventure that only teenagers with big dreams and zero fear can create.

We were inseparable back then—disco nights, talking about girls, cruising in his Buick like we owned the world. We perfected the fine art of “pulling a fast one” on NY/NJ Transit, worked side-by-side at Benhill, and proudly led the Spanish Club at St. Joe’s. Those were days filled with laughter, hope, and a sense that life was just beginning.

His passing has taken an irreplaceable piece of my heart. Yet I am deeply grateful that life brought us back together after so many years. That reconnection was a gift—a final reminder of the loyalty, humor, and soul that made him who he was.

As Juan and I recently said to each other, the true tragedy is not that he would not be here, but that he and I didn’t get to cherish more of the time we could have spent together. Still, the memories remain—bright, alive, and forever part of who I am.

To his beloved wife, Fifi, his daughter Laura, his son Eric, and his mother, doña Lourdes—please accept my deepest condolences. I hope you find comfort in knowing how deeply Juan was loved, how fiercely he lived, and how many lives he touched with his kindness and healing spirit.

Dr. Falla left a legacy of love, laughter and encouragement. Having worked with him over several years, I admired how he cared for each one of his patients. He truly was a shining example of an amazing doctor! Over the last few years I became thankful for his encouragement and friendship. He loved his family deeply and you all were part of regular conversation...May the shared memories and love that all who knew him help ease the grief that his loss brings.

Heaven gained an angel and a legend to say the least..  “Papi” was such a great doctor always caring for patients, softball teammate , but most important a man who put family and faith above all..truly a father figure that taught many life lessons to me and everyone around him..  his humor also lightened every room.. will always be grateful of the many stories and memories shared

I am so very saddened about Juan’s passing and extend my deepest sympathies to the entire Falla family. 
We met Juan and Fifi in 1988 when they moved here from New Jersey and our children attended the same Preschool and Elementary school. We have been friends with this wonderful family ever since.  Juan was not only our friend but the best doctor we ever had. He was such a passionate, caring and brilliant man.. We enjoyed many good times together such as birthdays and holidays and sharing a good glass of wine. We will always miss him, we were devastated when we heard of his ALS diagnosis but we’ were blessed to be able to still see him and spend time with him right up to the end   The world was a much better place with Juan in it and his Aunt was so right calling him “Juan in a Million “.  I am truly sorry to lose him but am glad he is not suffering any more and is with Our Lord in Heaven resting comfortably in God’s arms. Rest in Peace my friend, you were the Best.

Dr. Juan Falla and Fifi were one of the first couples we met when we moved to Clearwater. We enjoyed going to Salsa lessons with them and celebrating New Years eve with them at a Cuban function. He was loved by his patients and everyone who was blessed to know him. You will be dearly missed!

My heart is truly broken to see this news. Dr. Falla was my doctor for over 20 years. Even when I moved away to Georgia, I still waited a year to switch doctors and would schedule my appointments while I was visiting home. He provided such excellent care, and truly listened to his patients. Dr. Falla was there for me in many tough situations in my life, and always provided me with guidance. He truly was one of the most genuine, incredible human beings I’ve ever met in my life! I loved always hearing about his family when I came to see him, as his face would just light up! Especially about his grandchildren! My thoughts and prayers are with his family during this difficult time. He will be truly missed, and I am so grateful to have had his care for all of those years. Rest easy Dr. Falla.

This broke my heart to see. My husband and I were patients of Dr. Falla since he told us we were pregnant with our first child in 1995. He blessed and guided us through so much for so many years, saw me through cancer, and effects of early aging, teaching us how to be healthy as we get older. I always remember our talks and his dreams of retirement and his plans after devoting his life to taking care of us. The many discussions we had about his family and how abundantly proud he was of them. He always made me feel like a friend, not a patient. When we learned of his diagnoses, we were devastated. He was an angel on earth and I know he will be dearly missed by so very many. May you rest easy now, sweet Dr. Falla.

My daughter Kim and I were blessed to be patients of Dr Falla for over 25 years. Being a single parent, I found myself depending on him for both medical and parenting help which he provided with great caring and compassion. My heart was broken when I heard of his passing and I pray God will comfort his family in this difficult time.🙏

My family and I were patients of Dr. Falla for many years.  He was a great doctor who always made you feel like he cared and he did!  He used to let my daughter when she was young play with a reflex hammer.  Many years later, he sent her the hammer to us when he retired.  Amazing that he remembered and that he thought of her when he was struggling with ALS. And I would not be here today if not for Dr. Falla. One year, he noticed something in my blood work and sent me to a specialist.  Ultimately, I developed leukemia that may not have been discovered if not for Dr. Falla.  Today,  I am in remission and I have Dr. Falla to thank.  I have missed Dr. Falla since the day he retired.

I had the good fortune to be a patient of Dr. Falla’s when he was with Cigna and then again later when he joined what is Baycare.  The MINUTE I saw he was available on my health plan, I immediately went back to him. His manner, his care, his concern. When I was able to start bringing my children to him, it was THE BEST THING EVER. My daughter would scream every time we drove into the parking lot of her previous doctor but Dr. Fall’s calm and his patience, gentleness and just TRUE concern made all that go away. He always remembered things we told him about family and always asked for updates about the kids even after they left home for school. We moved to Tampa 10 years ago but continued on with him until he had to retire in 2023. We have been through THREE other doctors already since then.  I was DEVASTATED to hear he was sick.  I prayed every week for him and for his family. I am so saddened at his passing and so grateful to his family for sharing him with us all these years. God bless you all and may you find comfort in memories.

Patrick and I have fond memories of Juan and his family during the years our kids attended St. Cecelia School. He was truly a gentle man in every sense of those words.  Besides his kindness and caring nature, he could dance! One of the best memories we have is watching Juan and Fifi glide effortlessly across a dance floor at gatherings. Now he is no longer suffering and, along with his father, is watching over his loved ones. We will miss him. Our thoughts are with Fifi, Laura, and Eric and their families.

Juan was a colleague and friend. He managed our beer league softball team with grace and honor.  My condolences to Fifi and the kids.

Juan was such an amazing, caring man to all of his patients and I will truly miss him dearly.  He was a great father and husband to a very close family. To Fifi, Eric and Laura and the entire family, my deepest condolences. I will always have enduring respect for how he carried himself, even in the face of a dire diagnosis. I have been a colleague for 25 years and doctor for Juan while it seems he continued to fill my soul for these past 2 years.

Juan was one of the absolutely best Doctor's that I have ever had the pleasure to work with and without a doubt the best Dr. I've ever had for myself and my family.

It was a true blessing to have known Juan both professionaly and personally. He was a great physician, mentor and friend. Always so curious and  supportive. His kindness was always something that made my heart feel so full. He was a great example of a father, husband and physician. 
He left this earth way too early, but his legacy of family, friendship and love is ever enduring. I thank God that our paths crossed.

I had the privilege to  know Juan in at least three different ways.   I crashed with him when my daughter was a child.  I became a friend of his of many years.  Finally, he became my doctor when he went into his private practice.   I enjoyed his company , as he seems to always be positive and interested.  He best thing I can think of to say about him  is, he was a true and sincere person.   He car4ed about people and their well being.   I mean that he car4ed well be fond being a doctor.

I remember playing catch with Juan be fore a softball practice.   we were throwing the ball in the outfield.  I could throw it pretty hard., but Juan threw it harder.   I finally stopped because I was scared I would miss the catch and the ball, which was always right at my head,  would hit me.   We both smiled and went on w\ith our practice.

I Ihaven't seen Juan since we moved from Clearwater, but I have thought about him many times.   He will be missed and always admired by me.

My parents were  patients of Dr. Falla’s for many years and  they thought the world of him.  As my mom got older and was no longer able to drive, I took her to all of her doctor’s appointments.  It was then that I first met Dr. Falla and I could see immediately why they thought he was so wonderful.  He was patient, kind, caring and compassionate.  I knew that if he treated one patient that way, he treated everyone else the same way.  My sincere condolences to his family and friends.  May he Rest in Peace.

It is with deep sadness that I write this short message to Dr Juan Falla and his family. We were shocked to hear of his diagnosis back in 2023 and prayed for him and his family daily. Dr Falla was not only a great physician, but family man, collegue and friend. He will be greatly missed by us all. As I write this, I think of our times discussing patient care, family times, baseball, fishing with the grandkids and life in general. I remember our social gatherings at his home, in the salsa dance class, at the Cuban Social club where we spent a New Year's eve with Fifi, his parents and their friends. He was a great physician who will be missed by his patients, collegues and community. It was my privilege to work alongside Juan and call him a friend for 25 years. He was an exceptional man who excelled in all aspects of his life: as a physician, son, a devoted father and husband, and a loyal friend. Everyone who had the good fortune of knowing him is better for the experience and he will be profoundly missed.

Doc we met through our faith which carried us to do great mission works with our twining parish in Jinotega, Nicaragua.  Our friendship grew and we shared great times together.  Thank you for such great memories.  Ashley and Janice ✝️

Absolutely the Best doctor i ever had.  Followed him from wherever he was.  Became more like family. We talked our children. Our vacations.  Sports we loved doing.  Have never met anyone like him. I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of Dr. Juan Falla. He was not only an exceptional physician, but also a wonderful person whose kindness, integrity, and warmth touched so many lives—including ours.

Thank you for being wonderful you.   Many have trusted your medical expertise, and many cared for you as a friend. You were my physician, and you were my friend.  Goodbye for now my friend.  I am sure you will have a wonderful chat with Jesus.

Never in my lifetime have I ever been cared for by a more compassionate and skilled Physician than Dr Falla.  With his encouragement and assistance I was able to attain sobriety that I cherish at 92 years old.  Most years I never would have lived if not for his personal and professional care.  I'm certain that there are so many more testimonials of the life saving medical care by this great Man!

Always a gentleman.  Juan holds a special place in the memory of all who had the pleasure of an encounter with him.

Juan and Fifi enjoying social dancing, always adoring one another.  Juan was a person of great faith and character.  The love a person brought to life does not leave with them; it remains in our memories, stories, and the lessons they taught us.  Juan was an admirable role model.

I had the honor to know and become a part of close friendship with Juan Falla. We shared family, friends, and often our professional knowledge for almost 40 years. He gave me guidance and courage to handle life's challenges both medically and brotherlike.
He is now with the Heavenly Father appreciating the rewards that he attained by caring for the patients that put their trust in him for their care. 
In times like today a man like Juan Falla will truly be missed!

I can’t imagine a world without Juan Falla! Juan was bigger than life. Heaven sure got another Angel on November 25th. Juan’s journey on earth has ended but the impact he made will last a lifetime. The story of his life is a beautiful one. What an amazing Family what an amazing life., what an amazing Man. To his family my condolences you were his everything he adored all of you I’ve never witnessed a stronger love. My life has been changed for good because I knew Juan. Juan will be truly missed because of the beautiful life he lived and the countless lives he touched. His reward will be great in Heaven. “I fought a good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. “ I believe Juan was so strong because of his strong faith. I thank Juan for being a second Dad to my son Brett and welcoming us into his family. I miss my friend I loved this guy. Rest in Peace Juan and thanks for making the world a better place.
