Julius Edmund Schriftgeisser Little, also known interchangeably as Jes or Juls, passed away on March 6, 2020. He had recently taken a position as General Manager with Smurfit Kappa in Arizona, when he unexpectedly became ill. Juls fought a five-week battle in the Chandler Regional Medical Center ICU. His son, son-in-law, wife and devoted friend George were by his side when he passed.
He is survived by his wife, Evie, his beloved son, Jesse (Garrett), his brother, Norman, his sisters, Mel (Ted), Lynn (Butch), Sue (Jeff) and Cindy (Dale). Sadly, his sister, L’aine predeceased him. He is also survived by his many loving nieces and nephews, and grand-nieces and grand-nephews. Lastly, he is survived by his favorite and loyal dog, Bella Donna.
Jes was born in the Panama Canal Zone on November 2, 1962 and was extremely proud of his unique upbringing, Panamanian heritage and tight-knit culture. He made many friends during his time in Panama that he is still close with to this day. After finishing high school, he and his family relocated to St. Petersburg, Florida. He eventually joined the US Army, where he served as a helicopter repair specialist.
Following his time serving our country in the military, Juls started a long and successful career working in the packaging industry. His various career moves took him and his family on a journey across the United States; including living in beautiful cities like San Francisco, Las Vegas, Houston and ultimately back to St. Petersburg.
Juls had a larger than life personality, making an impact on the people he met everywhere and anywhere he went. He was benevolent, enthusiastic and passionate and simply made things happen. He loved his job, was extremely generous, while never speaking ill of anyone. Juls also loved all sports, loved to barbeque, loved to dine out and most of all he loved spending time with his many friends and family members. He was a member of the Panama Canal Society, the American Legion and the Elks Club.
Lastly and most importantly, Juls was a devout Christian and was very vocal about putting his faith and trust in Jesus Christ alone. Therefore, although he is greatly missed, we are assured he is at eternal rest with God the Father. Rest in peace, until we all see you again.
