

Kenneth "Ken" Daniel Soszka, age 59, of Safety Harbor, Florida, passed away on July 25, 2025. Ken was born on July 18, 1966, in Plainview, New York, on Long Island, to Kenneth R. and Veronica Soszka. He grew up in Hicksville, New York, with his mother Veronica and his step-father, Joe Briand. On weekends, Ken spent time with his father Ken and his step-mother, Jane, along with his half-sister, Lisa. Later in his late teens, Ken was blessed with another half-sibling, Eric Soszka. Ken attended Hicksville High School and started looking to earn money at an early age with his newspaper delivery route by bicycle. In his mid to late teens, that evolved into Ken and his friend Larry becoming business owners and having their own pet store, Pets Etc. Ken had a passion for animals, as well as setting up aquariums.
Ken decided it was time for a change of scenery and moved to Florida in the early 90’s. Ken married his first wife, and became a step-father to three children, Christa, Michael, and Ashley. In 1997, Ken’s proudest moment in his life occurred when his son, Jonathan Daniel Soszka, was born.
Later, Ken met his soulmate and love of his life, Cheryl in 2002. The two married on February 25, 2007 and together raised their two sons, Jonathan and Jordan as a true blended family. Ken was a dedicated husband and father, always present and supportive in the lives of his family. His family was the most important thing in his life.
Ken worked in the IT industry for over 25 years. He has worked as a network administrator, telephone administrator, help desk consultant, and most everywhere in between. Ken worked for a family owned company for 19 years and later for BMC Software. In 2018, Ken became self-employed as a software consultant.
Ken’s passion was for all things related to racing, NASCAR, Formula 1, ARCA, IMSA, etc. Ken began attending NASCAR races with his father at the age of 10 through the age of 26. Pocono, Watkins Glen, and Daytona were annual trips for Ken and his father. Ken and Jonathan were beginning an annual tradition of attending the race at Richmond.
Ken was an active member and administrator of the online racing community FSB Racing. In addition, Ken was a member of the Donkey Bop Sim Racing team, where he raced the “07” car. Ken formed meaningful friendships across the country and his enthusiasm left a lasting mark on the Sim Racing community. Ken was able to meet his Sim Racing friends in-person at the Long Beach Grand Prix and locally, at the 24 hours of Daytona.
Ken was also interested in flight simulation and created reviews and tutorials on a YouTube channel. Ken had a History of NASCAR YouTube channel. Ken’s YouTube channels were something he was very proud of and were rapidly growing. He will be remembered for his kindness, sense of humor, curiosity, and the way he brought people together—whether online or in person.
Ken is preceded in death by his father, Kenneth R. Soszka and his mother-in-law, Cyndi Fort-Wisely. He is survived by his loving wife, Cheryl Soszka; his two sons, Jonathan Soszka (Kaitlyn) and Jordan Carlton; his mother, Veronica Briand; his cats, Toby and Gracie, and his siblings, Lisa and Eric. Ken’s presence will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
A gathering of family and friends will be held on August 9, 2025 at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home at 1:00pm with a Celebration of Ken's Life to begin at 2:00pm and a reception to follow afterwards.
