Kim Joe McLane

Kim Joe McLane, also known as P-Pops, passed away at the age of 63 on Saturday January 2, at home with his family after a 5 year battle with cancer. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Susie Fernandez McLane, his son Shaun McLane, grandsons Justin and Blake McLane, siblings Chris, Cindy, Kirt, and Scott McLane. He was born in Charlotte, MI and raised with his siblings in a small town on a dairy farm his parents, Ollen and Connie owned. His family moved to Naples Florida while attending high school, which is also where he met his future wife, Susie. Initially they were just friends and Kim moved to Largo Florida with his family. Kim got a job after high school at Anvil Paints & Coating, a paint manufacturing company in Largo Florida and made it a career, eventually becoming the plant manager working there for 45 years until his retirement. When Kim first started working at Anvil he moved into an apartment in Clearwater with some buddies. He then reunited with his high school friend, Susie when going back to Naples to visit friends. They dated long distance until she moved in with him and he married her at sunset on Clearwater Beach in 1976. Kim loved fishing, boating, water skiing, motorcycle riding, golfing, camping, hunting, ATV riding. He leaves behind a lifetime of memorable memories. He will be missed by all who knew him. A memorial service will be 11am Saturday January 9th at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Rd. Clearwater, Florida 33759. A Celebration of Life will follow from 12-2 at the funeral home.The service may be viewed at centralbaymarket.com. The service password is Kim0453.
