Larry Auldman Thompson

Larry was born in Clearwater, Florida on March 23, 1938 to the late Tyler Thompson and Grace Hunt Thompson.

Larry was a General Contractor, and the owner of LAT Construction Company. Over the course of a lifetime spent in the construction industry, he built many Publix, Winn Dixie, and Albertsons Supermarkets, as well as shopping centers, churches, and office buildings.

Larry did not play golf until after his retirement, but he loved playing the game and we always joked that if it was Tuesday, he was playing golf. He also loved to hunt and fish, but the passion for hunting was stronger and he hunted well into his 80's.

Larry was preceded by his parents, Tyler Thompson and Grace Hunt Thompson, and his sister Elinor Sue Smith and her husband Douglas B. Smith.

He is survived by his wife, Patricia "Pat" Thompson, son, Brick Grimes, and daughters Tracy Gialusis (Mano), Nicky Sarris (Phillip), grandchildren Crystal Grimes, Kendall and Tanner Sarris, Nick and Christian Gialusis, and great granddaughter Sage Flores. He also is survived by many cousins who all still live in Florida - most in the Clearwater area.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 28 at 11 AM at Sylvan Abbey. A reception will follow from 12 to 2 PM.
