Of Largo, Florida passed away on Saturday, October 9, 2021 of a sudden illness. Sadly this short obituary can never capture her unique essence or what she meant to so many people. Laura was born in Gulfport, Mississippi, on August 21, 1965 to Durwood and Ann Reynolds, the 5th of seven sisters. Laura attended Largo High School and loved to toss the “bird” to CHS when driving by. Laura was a Certified Nursing Assistant, gifted caregiver, and had her own house-cleaning business. Laura was an animal lover and dog owner, especially of her cherished shepherds, was a fierce animal champion and she found homes for many lucky cats and birds (yes you Boris). Laura enjoyed good food (so many foodie pictures!), McDonald’s filet-o-fish (no bun), music, good friends, the world of books and the library, a good mystery on PBS, a long browse through a thrift store, NASCAR, cookbooks, orchids and other natural wonders. Laura was a GOT and LOR fanatic, and had a wicked sense of humor and a knack for coming up with the perfect one-liner. Laura loved nothing more than just sitting in the sun on a beautiful day and reading a book. Laura knew every mom & pop and out of the way restaurant in Largo and Spring Hill and thrift stores and antique stores for fifty miles. Many weekends Laura and Ed would take road trips to special places. Laura could make friends with anyone, especially the elderly with whom she had a special bond. Laura was accepting of people just the way they are. Laura cherished family and she had a kind, loyal, brave heart and a beautiful soul. She was also one of the most stubborn people you would ever meet, even for a Reynolds. Laura gave so much of herself to others. If more people were like her the world would be a better place.
Laura is preceded in death by her Granny, her parents Durwood and Ann, and her sister Mary (Robert). Laura’s love lives on in her fiancé Ed Whitham (and Duke and Shadow and Boris), her sisters Lisa (Richard), Susan (John), Nancy (Patrick), Dede (Kevin), Sylvia (Steve), and Donna (the 8th sister of her heart), her nieces Andrea (Samantha), Jessica, Emily, Grace, Brianna (Becca) her nephews Bobby, Dustin, Christopher, Justin (Rachel), Alex (Hae), Jordan (Jessica), Jared and great-nephew Hunter and great-niece Everleigh, and many other aunts, cousins, uncles and friends.
