Marlene Romaine Joyce

Marlene was born on September 30, 1934, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Willard and Dorothy Winebrenner. At a young age, her family relocated to Baltimore, Maryland, where she was raised and later graduated from Roland Park High School.

She was married for nearly 70 years to Eugene E Joyce MD and raised three children, Eugene Jr, Gregory, and Jennifer. The family ultimately settled in Coral Gables, Florida, where they had a successful Ophthalmology practice. Upon her husband’s retirement they moved to Dunedin, Florida, to be closer to family.

A devoted wife, mother, and grandmother, Marlene's life was centered around her family. She was known for her warm heart, her deep care for others, and her joy in spending time with friends. A natural caregiver and lifelong dog lover, Marlene’s gentle spirit touched everyone who knew her.

Marlene was preceded in death by her beloved husband Eugene E Joyce MD, her sons Eugene Joyce, Jr. and Gregory Joyce, and her parents Willard Winebrenner and Dorothy Weber.

She is survived by her daughter Jennifer (Grahame) Bell; her grandchildren Nicholas (Colleen) Joyce, Shannon (Austin) Gerber, and Brian (Courtney) Bell; and her great-grandchildren Julia Joyce and Evelyn Joyce.

In honor of Marlene’s love for animals, memorial donations may be made to the Humane Society in lieu of flowers.
