Nancy Louise Jenkins (nee-Burge), was born on April 29, 1929 in Skokie, Illinois. She entered into the Lord’s presence on July 25, 2021 in Dunedin, Fl. She was 92 years old. She was predeceased by her husband Mark in 2004, and leaves two sons, Jack (wife Gayle) and Jim (wife Amanda). Nancy was blessed with 6 grandchildren, Dan (wife Hannah), Amy (husband Matt), David, (wife Jayme), Bryan (wife Angela), Kari (Courtnie), and Elissa (Kyle). She was also blessed with 10 great-grandchildren. Nancy was deeply devoted to her family and was deeply loved by each of them. She was loved by everyone who knew her.
Nancy went into nursing school right out of high school, becoming a registered nurse at St. Francis Hospital in Evanston, Illinois. That became her vocation until she had her two sons. Her compassion and desire to care for others carried through in her role as wife and mother. Her life was characterized by sacrificial and selfless service. She was a wonderful homemaker and mother. When her boys grew up, she went back into nursing for many years, becoming head nurse of the medical/surgical floor at Alexia’s Brothers Medical Center in Elk Grove, Illinois.
Nancy was also an accomplished musician, playing both piano and cello. She delighted her family and friend on the piano into her 90’s. She had a great sense of humor and always had a smile on her face.
Nancy was strong in her Christian faith, and her family takes comfort in knowing that she is with the Lord for eternity, having placed her faith and trust in Christ alone for her salvation.
Her life will be celebrated with a memorial service at 11:00 AM, on Saturday, August 7, 2021, at Lakeside Community Chapel in Clearwater, Fl. The address is 1893 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, Fl. 33765
