PIRO, Peter S. 91, of Clearwater, died at home Saturday, September 5, 2015. Pete was born in Chicago, IL on March 1, 1924 to Dominick and Pasqua (Marino) Piro. He served in the US Navy during WWII from December 1942 - Feburary 1946 as Pharmacist Mate 2nd Class. Upon discharge, he attended Northwestern University and received his Bachelors Degree. Pete was a long time employee of Nielsen Corporation. He stayed in close contact with many friends from his service and business careers. Pete is survived by his wife of 7 years, Verna Jean (Jeanie) and a niece and nephew. He was preceded in death by his parents, siblings, and his first wife of 54 years, Nancy. A Celebration of Life Memorial Service will be held at Regency Oaks South Grand Lobby located at 2701 Regency Oaks Blvd, Clearwater FL 33759 on Wednesday, September 9, 2015 at 3 o'clock in the afternoon. A private family burial will take place at a later date.
