Raymond Lloyd Smith

Raymond L. Smith, age 66, passed away Friday, March 11, 2022, following a brief illness. He was the son of the late Josephine and Lloyd Smith of Belleair, Florida. Left to cherish his memory are his loving wife of twenty-seven years, Tricia Guy; brother, Jim Smith (Andy); sister, Nancy McNeice (Keith); mother-in-law and father-in-law, Linda and Albert Guy; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Beth and Jerry Rhinehardt; nephews, Joel Smith (Brittany), Scott McNeice (Katie), David McNeice (Delacie), Andy McNeice (Meredith), and Jared Rhinehardt (Rebecca); and many loving great-nephews, great-nieces, and other family members.

Ray was an avid reader with a fondness for history and found it important to stay updated on current affairs of the world by daily reading global newspapers and articles. As a talented landscaper, he developed a successful landscaping company in the Tampa Bay Area. Ray was a true plantsman. He found great joy in creating special vignettes in the gardens surrounding their home. Photography was one of Ray’s passions. He especially loved taking pictures of nature and architectural designs. His artistic eye often captured unique features unnoticed by most individuals and he was gifted at using color, light, and angles to create aesthetically beautiful images. Ray enjoyed all genres of music, automobiles, sports cars, airplanes, sports, and penguins. In addition, he was a cuisine connoisseur, a gourmet with discriminating taste and knowledge in the craft and art of food preparation.

A celebration of life service for Ray will be held at a later date.
