Richard L Knight

Florida, passed away at the age of 89 on October 3,2021 in Leesburg, Virginia after a

brief illness.Dick is survived by his loving wife of over 50 years, Norma A. Knight of Clearwater, FL.

Dick was born in Washington DC on March 18th, 1932 to Francis and Eleanor Knight. He

grew up in Georgetown and enlisted in the United States Navy. Upon completion of

military duty, Dick went to work for C&P Telephone Company as a Systems Specialist

where he retired after 35 years of service. After retirement Dick and Norma relocated to

Clearwater, Florida where they have lived since 1989.

Dick was an avid Football fan who attended Washington Redskin football games for over 20 years. While maintaining his allegiance to the Redskins, he also became a Tampa Bay Buccaneers' football fan while living in Florida. He loved to play horseshoes, pinochle and he enjoyed a good cigar in his earlier years.

Dick is pre-deceased by four brothers, Heber Knight, Edgar Knight, Austin Knight and

George Knight as well as three sisters Imogen Bowling, Jane Dommel and Cameron

Lawry.

A visitation for Richard will be held Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 11:00 AM to 12:00 PM at Sylvan Abbey - Funeral Home, 2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, FL 33759. A service will occur Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 12:00 PM to 12:45 PM starting with Masonic rites at 2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater, FL 33759. A graveside service will occur Saturday, October 16, 2021 from 1:00 PM to 1:30 PM at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park, 2860 SUNSET POINT RD, CLEARWATER, FL 33759.
