

Richard ‘Dale’ Weir Dale passed away peacefully at Suncoast Hospice, Palm Harbor Florida, on Saturday, February 06, 2016 at the age of 81. He was born August 11, 1934 in Beaver Falls, PA. He proudly served in the US Navy from 1951 through 1955, on the battleship USS New Jersey and heavy cruiser USS Macon. Dale enjoyed sports, especially watching Tampa Bay Ray’s baseball, as well as golf, fishing, camping and spending time with his family and friends. He was especially proud recalling his memories as a young boy being the caddy for Babe Didrikson Zaharias, during a Beaver Falls golf tournament. Dale is predeceased by his parents, Fred and Ella ‘Blanche’ Weir-Vosler; his brother, Gale Weir; son, Dennis Weir; daughter, Bonitta ‘Bonnie’ Weir; and wife, Ouida ’Sue’ Weir. He is lovingly remembered and survived by his son, Daniel (Mary) Weir of Palm Harbor, FL.; brother, James (Terri) Weir of Melbourne, FL; sister, Dorothy Thompson of Patterson Heights, PA; brother, Harold (Marie) Weir of Beaver Falls, PA; loving companion of 26 years, Alberta Bauer of Palm Harbor, FL; and loving grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other relatives and extended family throughout the country. A Requiem Mass will be held at St. Stephen’s Episcopal, 5326 Charles Street, New Port Richey, FL, on Friday, February 19, 2016 at 1:00 pm, officiated by Rev. Fr. Walcott W. Hunter. Military honors and interment to follow at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Garden of Remembrance. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Disabled American Veterans Association.
