

Robert Henry Rennie, long- time resident of Indian Harbour Beach and Melbourne Florida, passed on Thursday February 2, 2017 at the age of 101. Bob lost his beloved wife of 65 years, Irene, in 2005. He was born January 4, 1916 in Toronto Canada and moved to the U.S. as a teen. He was proud and well-decorated old-Corps U.S. Marine and World War II veteran of several battles in the Pacific theater including Iwo Jima and aboard the aircraft carrier USS Lexington. After the war he attended Indiana and Northeastern Universities and retired from distinguished careers in law enforcement and corporate security. He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law Bonnie and Rich Scholz of Safety Harbor, FL; son and daughter-in-law Dr. Rob and Nancy Rennie of Saint Augustine, FL; grandsons Jeff Jenkins of Clearwater, FL and Shannon Rennie of Charlotte, NC; granddaughter Shauna Rennie of Titusville, FL; great grandson Brian Jenkins of New Port Richey, FL; great granddaughters Ariel Rennie of Deltona, FL and Sara Rennie of Charlotte, NC; and great great granddaughter Hurley Rennie of Deltona, FL. Throughout his long life he was dedicated to service for a greater good and served as an exemplar of the greatest generation. Services will be held at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Funeral Home located at 2853 Sunset Point Road, Clearwater FL (due to construction services will be at the church next door) on February 13, 2017. Gathering of Family and Friends from 10:00 – 11:00 am – Services will be at 11:00 am – burial will follow at the gravesite. A Celebration of Life Luncheon will immediately follow at Positano’s Ristorante Italiano located at 3309 Tampa Road Palm Harbor FL.
