Warner, Robert Pollard, 93, of Clearwater, passed away March 19, 2026. Bob was born in Springfield, IL, and upon graduation from high school in 1950, enlisted in the U.S. Navy, serving honorably during the Korean War. After being discharged, he moved to Pontiac, Michigan, where he was employed by Consumers Power Co. for 35 years. He worked as a Gas Lineman and was active as Chief Steward and Auditor in Local 105 of the Utility Workers Union of America. After retiring in 1989, Bob moved to Clearwater, Florida.
Bob was a devoted father and grandfather who cherished his family deeply. An avid reader with a deep love of history, Bob was a passionate follower of politics and kept up on current events. He was never without an opinion and loved a good conversation. When his children were young, he loaded up the truck and camper every summer and took them on road trips all across the country, adventures still cherished to this day. Bob shared a lifelong passion of hunting with his son, going on yearly hunting trips. He was a proud fan of the Tampa Bay Lightning and the Tampa Bay Rays. He never missed his weekly lottery tickets; always hopeful his numbers would hit. He was also known for his legendary sweet tooth, never turning down a dessert, and no matter the time of day his drink of choice was always a decaf coffee. In his retirement, he found great joy in the six years he spent as a crossing guard, and he faithfully volunteered at the election polls year after year. A kind and generous man, he was always willing to help someone in need. He was loved by many and will be deeply missed.
Bob spent his final days at Baldomero Lopez State Veterans Home, where the staff adored him and he was known as a favorite among those who cared for him.
He was preceded in death by his lifelong love, Elaine Cooper; his son, Stephan Warner, who passed February 16, 2026; his brother, Richard Warner; his sister-in-law, Julie Warner; and his parents.
He is survived by his daughter, Heidi Conrad, of Clearwater; four grandchildren, Marisa Granata, of Temple Terrace, FL; Brandon Fenner, of Fort McCoy, FL; Madison Warner and Riley Warner, of North Port, FL; and two great-grandchildren; as well as his niece, Debbie Warner Brooks, and nephew, Richard Warner, both of Michigan; and his late son Stephan’s fiancée, Carissa Kocan, of Odessa, FL.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, March 28, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 PM at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park and Gardens, Clearwater, Florida. Bob will be laid to rest on Saturday, April 25, 2026, at 10:00 AM with military honors. The ashes of his loving son, Stephan, will be interred in an adjacent resting place, where both father and son will be honored together and reunited in eternal rest.
The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to VITAS Hospice and the incredible staff at Baldomero Lopez State Veterans Home for their compassionate care and love shown to Bob in his final days.
