Roger Guy Ormerod

ORMEROD, Roger Guy, 78, longtime resident of Palm Harbor, died Friday, October 14, 2011. Roger grew up in the New York City area. He graduated from the College of William and Mary, in Williamsburg, Virginia with a degree in Business Administration. His working career began in New York City but he later entered the wire and cable business joining the American Brass Company and the Okonite Company in a number of engineering and management positions. From there he and his family went to Greece for two and a half years as Managing Director for a wire and cable startup venture. He was a long time volunteer with the Abilities Foundation, Trinity Episcopal Church, Boy Scouts of America, Junior Achievement, the Worcester Foundation and others. In Tampa he established and ran a personnel agency for twenty years. He was an avid and frequent world traveler. Roger is predeceased by his daughter Sarah, survived by his wife, Jackie of 56 years, and two children, Thomas Ormerod, of Crystal Beach, Elizabeth Sanders of Tampa, his sister, Beverly Haas, Nokesville,VA and three grandchildren. The family will receive friends at 2 PM Wednesday, at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 693 S. Belcher Rd, Clearwater, FL followed by a Memorial Service at 3 PM.
