Roy “Gene” Eugene Brock, 79, of Saint Petersburg, Florida, passed away peacefully in his home on Sunday, August 2, 2020. Beloved husband of Georganne Rankin Brock for 48 years. Born in Crystal Beach, Florida, the son of Roy Arlington Brock and Fannie Eunice Rogers Brock. He grew up in Crystal Beach and graduated from Tarpon Springs High School in 1959. He entered into the United States Army to serve and after a few years he continued in the National Guard Reserves with an honorable discharge.
Gene had an extensive career in engineering, marketing, sales, purchasing and manufacturing, predominately in the citrus industry. He worked with the following companies, ABC Packaging Machine Corp., Gulf Machinery Co., Tropicana Products, Inc., and Mid-State Machine & Fabricating Corp.
Always jovial, considerate and willing to help others, Gene was an excellent joke and story teller. He loved sharing his memories with family and friends at the many wonderful gatherings he enjoyed throughout his life.
As a young man, Gene played baseball and later softball, but he was an avid football fan! He loved to travel. For business he travelled to China and Brazil. In retirement he travelled extensively throughout the United States, Europe and Central America with Georganne, and also occasionally with friends or family.
In addition to his wife Georganne, he is survived by his son Sean Kearney with his wife Irene Kearney and granddaughter Riley Kearney of Palm Harbor, Florida, his daughter, Amy Brock Siegenthaler and husband Eric Siegenthaler of Charleston, South Carolina, as well as several nieces, nephews and extended family members. He will be joining his sisters Helen Onita Dasher and Dorothy Ann Kennedy in heaven.
A private ceremony was held by the family to remember the wonderful life of Gene. Please enjoy the pictures with this online memorial to join us in celebrating his life. We would be honored if you would share your memories and pictures with us as well via this website.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations to M.D. Anderson Cancer Center where Gene was being treated until recently. His desire was to help the doctors research ways to prevent cancer in future generations. Please give in memory of Roy Eugene Brock at https://gifts.mdanderson.org or MD Anderson Cancer Center, P.O. Box 4486, Houston, TX 77210-4486.
