

Ruth Naomi Moore McNabb was born in Clearwater, Florida on September 3, 1921, the fifth child of Willard and Mollie (Guzman) Moore. She attended Northward Elementary School, Clearwater Junior High, Clearwater High School, and Tampa Beauty College. She lived in Clearwater until her marriage to Pat McNabb and then lived in California where he was stationed in the U.S. Marines. Upon his discharge, they moved to Chattanooga, Tennessee where Pat worked for Chrysler-Dodge. In 1961, the family moved to Clearwater where Ruth was self-employed as a beautician and Pat continued his employment with Chrysler. She was predeceased by her parents, her husband, Pat, and three brothers, Charles, John, and Stanley. She is survived by one daughter, Lynda McNabb Taylor (Robert) of Lakeland, one grandson, Brandon Taylor (Cheri), two great granddaughters Annaleigh and AshLynn, all of Lakeland, two brothers, Henry “Hank” Moore (Norma) and Richard “Marvin” Moore (Lea) both of Clearwater, three sisters, Newell Moore Hennigan of Largo, Daphne Moore Hennigan of Baltimore, Maryland, and Sally Moore Phillips (Donald) of Clearwater. She also has numerous nieces and nephews, great nieces and great nephews, as well as many friends in the community. She was a member of First Baptist Church of Largo, the Clearwater Historical Society and the Pinellas County Historical Society. She took a keen interest in Largo politics and her community. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. A visitation will be held on Wednesday July 23rd from 2 pm to 3 pm at Sylvan Abbey Funeral Home. Graveside services will follow at 3:30 pm at Sylvan Abbey Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the Clearwater Historical Society.
