

died suddenly on Wednesday, October 24, 2012 while riding his bicycle. He was born in Sicily and came to America with his bride in July 1939, arriving on the last passenger ship to cross the Atlantic before the war. Sal was a good man.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 74 years, Vincenza; sons Sal, Jr. and Anthony; daughter-in-law Christina and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In New York City Sal worked as a tailor. During WW II he found work on a farm in Long Island, NY and eventually began his own construction company in Deer Park, NY. He retired to Clearwater in 1984 from Deer Park. In his retirement years he really enjoyed fishing and talking to his many neighbors at Imperial Cove in Clearwater, FL.
The family will receive friends on Monday, October 29 from 6 – 8 PM and Tuesday, October 30 from 2 -4 and 6 – 8 PM at Moss Feaster Funeral Home, 693 S. Belcher Rd., Clearwater. A funeral mass will be celebrated at 9 AM on Wednesday, October 31 at St. Catherine of Siena Catholic Church, where he served as an usher for many years, 1955 S. Belcher Rd., Clearwater, FL. Burial will follow at Serenity Gardens Memorial Park, Largo, FL.
