Shirley Mary Barber

Born in 1922 in New Orleans, La. Shirley attended Sophie Newcomb college. She owned and operated the Barber Temple Orange Company from 1971 to 2005. She was one of the founding members of St. Cecelia Church and an active parishoner for over 60 years. She is survived by her daughters Kathy Herndon (John), Louise Crosby (Bing) and her son, Glenn Barber (Kim), 16 grandchildren, 22 great-grandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews including Ruth Evans who was raised as her sister. She was predeceased by her husband, Louis and her son Rick. Memorial gifts may be made to All Childrens Hospital or St Cecelia's Church. Visitation will be held at Moss-Feaster on 693 South Belcher Rd. From 5:00 to 7:00 on Friday, February 10. A Funeral Mass will be held at St. Cecelia Church on Friday, February 11 at 10:00 am.
