Shirley M Spaulding

SPAULDING, Shirley M., 74 of Largo, FL passed away May 19, 2016 surrounded by her loving family as a result of a car accident. She was born in Callicoon, NY. She was the daughter of Orville and Elva Whitmore. She has two brothers, Vernon Whitmore who is deceased and Arthur Whitmore of Damascus, Pennsylvania. She has a sister, Beverly Hillriegel, also of Damascus. Shirley graduated from Damascus High School and later from Charles S. Wilson Memorial School of Nursing. After graduation, she worked at Wilson Memorial Hospital in Johnson City, NY and Wayne Hospital in Honesdale, PA. She then moved to Florida with Karen and did private care. She then started with Palms of Pasadena Hospital South Pasadena, FL and retired from there after over 30 years of service. She met the love of her life, Edward Spaulding who became her husband and they were married over 40 years until his death in 2009. Edward had 3 children, Elizabeth, Edward, Jr. and Darrell. They became an instant family with 4 kids and never looked back. Survivors include her children Elizabeth (Greg) and their children, Lauren, Tiffany and Brandi; Edward Jr. (Debbie) and their children, Brittany, Edward III, Tim and Josh; Darrell and his children, Jennifer, Austin and Hunter; (Michael) and their children, Sarah and Matthew, all of Pinellas County. She also had 4 great grandchildren, with another on the way. They are Dominic, Avani, Everly and Brodie. She absolutely adored all her grandchildren and her family was most important
