Stanley C Norman Sr. Was born on May 27, 1927, in Dickens, Iowa, he received his reward on December 9, 2015
He was preceded by his parents, Babe and Vera Norman, a brother Bill, and a son Timothy John. Those celebrating his life today are his wife, Therese of 68 years, daughters Kathryn Loebig (David), Patricia Dillon (Robert),Sue Macklin (Robert), and Sally Magliolo (Richard) His two remaining sons, Stan Jr. and Thomas Norman (Carmen). His brothers and their wives, Morris and Marylu, Jim and Marney, Jack and Barb Norman. Many grandchildren, great grandchildren and so many friends.
Stan was an avid sportsman along with his brothers, he went out for all the sports that a small rural community offered. He had a scrapbook which his mother had kept and it offered many descriptions of his accomplishments in high school sports. In fact, if one of his kids went out for any sport the scrapbook would always come out.
An article from the local newspaper written by the reporter once read "This Stan Norman kid is one of the best basketball handlers I've seen in a very long time." He showed us that particular article quite a few times. He was a very good golfer and enjoyed winning many golf trophies along with having 4 hole in one accomplishments. If there was a sport that he had interest in, he did it and at the top of his game.
He serviced in World War II and was a U.S. Army veteran.
He loved numbers and although he did go to a small business college, most of his accounting ability was self taught. He worked in Spencer Iowa at O'dea Finance Company and also at Eddie Quinns Clothing. He retired from the Ford Lincoln car business at age 62 in Tampa, Florida, he thoroughly enjoyed 26 years of just having fun in Florida and Okoboji, Iowa.
All of this aside, his most prized possession was his sweet wife, Therese. Together they set out to raise their seven children and they instilled a very strong work ethic, a solid religious upbringing, and showed us the love and support that we all so profoundly feel and cherish. This man will be sorely missed. So when you go out at night, look up into the stars, chances are that strong flighted Angel is watching over us all. God Bless you Dad.
