In Loving Memory of Thomas E. Ziegler

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Thomas E. Ziegler, who left us September 11, 2025. Born on April 5, 1949, Thomas lived a life filled with love, dedication, and kindness. He was the beloved husband of Linda Janisch Ziegler, with whom he shared a cherished marriage of 47 years.

Thomas was a proud father to two daughters, Crystal Huners and Jaclyn Eklund, and a loving father-in-law to Tom Huners and Chris Eklund. His family brought him immeasurable joy, and he adored his four grandchildren: Brooke, Alyssa, Harlan, and Brenna.

Thomas was a dedicated member of Espiritu Santo Catholic Church and the Knights of Columbus. He had a deep commitment to education and personal growth, having attended St. Leo’s, Fordham University, Miami University, and Adelphi University. He graduated with an MBA in Accounting and worked as a CPA.

An extraordinary story and an example of a man, husband, father and papa who truly knew the value of family, friends, life and the gift of time.

Tom succumbed to a long illness in his sleep at home with grace, dignity and courage through the most difficult times.

He was sweet, compassionate and wise. He knew where due north was and would guide us. He loved and appreciated genuine people and was a true friend. He was the heart and soul of his family. He would worry about the state of the world and the future of his children and grandchildren. He loved the news and keeping up with the ever-changing world we live in.

He put all aside to share unconditional love when he was going through the biggest battle of his life. He would quote Mohhamed Ali “Don’t count the days but make the days count. Game on and fight.” He did just that and gave us many fond, cherished memories of frying a turkey at Thanksgiving, Hooters wings on game day, and watching the Quiet Man on St. Patrick’s Day. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, grilling on the Green Egg, had a lifelong passion for Harley Davidson Motorcycles, karate and Miami University.

Tom would frequently reference the Serenity Prayer. What lies behind and what lies before us are tiny to what lied within him and what he gave us. His legacy and values and heart will always be with us.

Special thanks to my family and friends-Tom, Kenny, Peter, Philip and Janet. Their support has sustained us through difficult times and who gave him a lifetime of memories.

And to his children and grandchildren may you always know you are strong like Papa, and he will always be there for you. Know you are forever loved and in his heart.
