

William Calvin O’Neal, 92, of Tarpon Springs, passed away Monday, surrounded by his family. “Bill” was a beloved husband, father, brother, uncle, grandfather and great-grandfather. Born July 9, 1922 in Warren, AK to Ruth White and Roy O’Neal, his service in the Coast Guard during WWII brought him to FL, where he met the love of his life, Ruby Whitaker, to whom he was married for over 70 years. He retired from Kraft Foods before founding Huntington Homes, a family business and proud legacy. He was an avid golfer, a member of the Exchange Club, had a contagious smile, and enjoyed life to the fullest. He was preceded in death by his sister, Vivian Corinne Williams (wife to Perry). He is survived, and will be deeply missed, by his wife Ruby; his brother, Kenneth Ray O’Neal (husband to Diana); his sister, Virginia Madine Taliaferro; his sons: William Kenneth O’Neal (husband to Deborah) and John “Jack” Calvin O’Neal, and his daughter, Barbara O’Neal Davis (wife to Marion); two grandsons: Matthew Marion Davis (husband to Julie) and Ryan Randolph Cottrell (husband to Courtney); many nieces and nephews, and three great-grandsons. Services will be Friday at 2:30 at Sylvan Abbey Mausoleum Chapel. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Leukemia Society.
