

Carolyn was born in Forsyth County on November 13, 1948, the daughter of the late John Burton Snyder and Anna Barnes Snyder. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by both paternal and maternal grandparents. Carolyn attended Special Education Class at Wiley Elementary School in 1954, (this was the second year of any school of this type in the state) and a graduate of Old Central High in Salem on May of 1969. She began working in 1969 with the county shelter workshop also known as Forsyth Industrial Systems, moving in 1979 to North Highland Avenue.
She was a life time member of Fairview Moravian Church, a part of the Friendship Sunday school class, and Maggie Styers Missionary Chapter. She also enjoyed participating in all church activity. Carolyn enjoyed music, coloring, drawing, animals, pot luck dinners, and going out to eat. She never forgot a name, was a very loving person, and will be missed by all that knew her.
Carolyn is survived by a brother John Snyder and wife, Judy of Winston-Salem and an uncle Brooks Snyder of Clemmons.
A funeral service will be held 2:00PM on Monday, March 7th at Fairview Moravian Church with Pastor Scott Venable officiating. Burial will follow at God ’s Acre Moravian Graveyard. The family will receive friends following the service.
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to the band or choir fund at Fairview Moravian Church, 6550 Silas Creek Parkway, Winston-Salem, NC 27106.
