

Carson Lee Brown, 87, went home to be with his Lord on December 12, 2014. Carson was born May 6, 1927 in Boone, NC the first child to the late Stewart B. Brown and Annie Vines Brown. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his brother, Lewis Brown and sister, Martha Jean Greene. Carson was a charter member of Pfafftown Baptist Church and served as a deacon, Sunday School teacher, member of the choir, and on numerous committees within the church. He was a veteran of the US Army during WWII serving in Japan. On June 27, 1953 he married the love of his life, Georgia Lee Scott. He was the President and owner/operator of Airweld Inc. from 1964-1993. Carson was a very hardworking man who grew his business with honesty and humility. He loved his family and in his spare time he enjoyed fishing at Atlantic Beach and traveling. He was also a member of the Old Town Lion's Club and supported many local youth sports organizations such as the Pfafftown Packers (former president) and WCCC basketball. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, Pa Pa, and friend. He took pride that his mother named him Carson which means "Beloved Son". This Christmas God gave our Dad the greatest gift of all, eternal life. He is free of pain and suffering, but will be truly missed by all that loved and knew him. Those left to cherish his memory are his wife of 61 years Georgia S. Brown, daughters Tracy (Charles) McAninch of Pfafftown, and Kelly (Kelly) Allen of Pinnacle; four grandchildren that he adored Taylor, Cassidy, Abigail, and Colton; brothers Stewart "Junior" Brown (Earlene) of Boone, Vaughn Brown of S.C, sister-in-law Faye Brown and brother in-law Clay Verne Greene both of Boone; numerous nieces and nephews; along with his faithful friend J.D. Hatcher.A funeral service will be held 2 PM, Monday, at Pfafftown Baptist Church with Pastor Thomas Bounds and Pastor Eddie Brackett officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park. The family will receive friends on Monday from 12:30 until 2, prior to the service.Memorial contributions may be made to Pfafftown Baptist Church, 4336 Transou Road, Pfafftown, NC 27040 or to Community Health Hospice, 225 Davie Ave. Statesville, NC 28677. The family would like to thank Forest Heights and Community Health Hospice for the love, care, and support given to Carson and his family during his illness.
