Dorothy D. Mahaffey passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011 after suffering a long illness. She was born October 21, 1922 to the late Frank and Ida Duncan.
Mrs. Mahaffey was preceded in death by a nephew Timothy Tomlinson.
Surviving family includes her husband Hayden B. Mahaffey; daughter Rebecca Dawson and her husband Ken; sister Shirley Duncan; grandchildren J.D. and Paula Smith of Denver, Colorado; and her close friend Elizabeth Teague.
A funeral service, celebrating the life of Dorothy Mahaffey, will be conducted on Wednesday, July 27, 2011, 11:00 AM, at the Mausoleum Chapel at Westlawn Gardens of Memory, 6135 Ridgecrest Road, Clemmons (336-766-4731).
Mrs. Mahaffey was a member of Clemmons First Baptist Church and Senior Pastor Dr. Robert Phillips will officiate at her funeral service.
