Dorothy Virginia Lawrence Jones

Dorothy was born in Forsyth County, a daughter to the late James C. Lawrence and Mary Dull Lawrence. On November 19, 1945 she married the love of her life, William R. Jones. She was an active member of Lewisville Baptist Church until her declining health, where she served as a pianist and volunteered any way she could help serve others. Dorothy loved traveling and gardening; she was a very humble and caring person. Dorothy was a wonderful and dedicated wife, mother, homemaker, and cook. She will be missed dearly.

She is survived by her husband of 68 years, William R. Jones of the home; two daughters, Dianne Simmons and husband, Rudy of Lewisville and Bev Shore and husband, Harold of Lewisville.

A graveside service will be held 11:00 AM, Thursday, May 8th at Lewisville Baptist Church Cemetery with Dr. George Smith and The Rev. Jo Bjorling officiating. The family will receive friends following the service.

The family would like to express a special thank you to the ICU Unit at Forsyth Medical Center and the staff of Clemmons Village II for the love, care, and support given to our mother, and the kindness shown to our family during her time of life there.
