Libby was born on September 13, 1957 in Rowan County to the late Lawrence Gray Grubb and Virginia Pierce Grubb. She graduated from North Rowan High School and then went on to earn her degree from Appalachian State University. She went on to teach both elementary and exceptional children in Stokes and Forsyth county.
Libby fought metastatic breast cancer for the last 7 years. During this fight, she helped form Piedmont METsters, a group for those fighting her same battle to come together and share their experiences and lean on each other.
Libby’s most cherished role in her life was that of being a mother. Her family was extremely important to her. Her capacity for this love grew even more when she became “MaMe” to Eloise.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Milton Miller, and son, Cameron Miller. Libby leaves behind her son, Russell (Casey) Miller; granddaughter, Eloise Miller; brother, Robert (Tina) Grubb; niece, Ginny (Matthew) Earnhardt and her children; and nephew, Gray (Hannah) Grubb and their children. She also leaves behind an abundance of friends who were more like family and stayed by her side.
A celebration of Libby’s life will be held on Friday, January 12th at Frank Vogler & Sons in Clemmons at 11 AM.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Carolina’s Chapter of Casting for Recovery (see direct link below).
