Mrs. Evelyn Ward Williams

Evelyn Ward Williams, 102, of Winston-Salem passed away June 16, 2011. She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Tilton Ward and Nora Martin Ward; her husband, Fred Dixon Williams, Sr.; one sister; and two brothers. Her immediate survivors are her son, Fred Dixon Williams, Jr. and wife Sharon of Pfafftown; Rose Mary Williams and husband Bob of Midlothian, VA; grandchildren, Robin D. Williams; Jeffrey T. Williams and wife Crystal; Heather Smith and husband Matt; Brooke Thompson and husband Justin; Holly Shaffer and husband Steven; 8 great-grandchildren; and a very special sister-in-law, June D. Ward. She taught for over thirty two years in East Bend and Winston-Salem; and was an active member of Ardmore United Methodist Church and the Retired Teachers Association. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and her family and friends. The family will receive friends on Sunday, June 19, 2011 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Frank Vogler & Sons Reynolda Road Chapel. Another visitation will be held on Monday, June 20, 2011 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Ardmore United Methodist Church, Winston-Salem with a Memorial Service to follow at 2:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Ardmore United Methodist Church, 630 South Hawthorne Road, Winston-Salem, North Carolina 27103.
