Gladys Louis Beamer

Pete was born on December 20, 1920 in Surry Co., NC a daughter to the late Caleb Warren Beamer and Kettie Lee Steele Beamer.She was a faithful member of Old Town Baptist Church and of The Eastern Star. She retired from Lucent Technology. In her spare time she enjoyed traveling, walking, reading, playing Canasta, working puzzles and baking. She will especially be remembered for her cream cheese pound cake. She was a jovial person and loved her family. Pete will be missed dearly by all that knew her.

She is survived by three siblings, Helen Caldwell, John Dick Beamer and his wife, Dean, and Lee Garner all of Winston-Salem; eight nieces and nephews, Gail Caldwell, Neil Caldwell and wife, Connie, Joni K. Johnson and husband, Jim, Sandy Garner and wife, Lou, Mike Garner and wife, Debbie, Talmadge Garner and wife, Margaret Ann, Craver Garner and wife, Debbie, and Leigh Ann Garner as well as many great nieces and nephews. She loved her Lord, life, family, & friends. A special thank you to Ellie, Sarah, Lashonda, Shannon, Renee, & Mandy who helped Pete enjoy life to the very end.

Family visitation will be held April 29th at 10am followed by a memorial service at 11amat Old Town Baptist Church with Dr. Rick Speas officiating. A private inurnment will be held at Crossroads Baptist Church in Dobson, NC. Memorials may be made to Old Town Baptist Church or Hospice & Palliative Care Center.
