Jane was born in Aberdeen, NC on November 1, 1923 to John Kelly and Hannah Tatum Melvin. She was a member of the Sweet Adaline Choir Group. Jane was a member or Highland Presbyterian Church in Winston Salem. She served over 20 years as a volunteer for Meals on Wheels.
She is survived by her son, John Porter, and his wife, Leslie, and many nieces, nephews, family, and loved ones.
The funeral service will be held Saturday, October 8, 2016 at 11 a.m. at Frank Vogler & Sons Funeral Home, 2951 Reynolda Rd, with Pastor Debbie Layman officiating. Burial will follow at Forsyth Memorial Park.
