She was born in Dayton, OH to the late William and Ruth Elsom Kauffman. Janice graduated from the University of Miami in Dayton, OH. She later went to work for Forsyth County Social Services for over 25 years in AFDC. Janice was an elder and proud member of Clemmons Presbyterian Church.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Thornton Sparrow; parents; son, Mike Sparrow; brother, Dick Kauffman; and sisters, Joanne Kauffman Breelings and Dorothy Kauffman Jacobson. Janice is survived by her sons, Robert Sparrow, and wife Toni, and Chris Sparrow; the Breelings family, the Kauffman family, the Fuson family, and Jacobson family.
The visitation will be Friday at Frank Vogler & Sons Clemmons Chapel, 2849 Middlebrook Dr, from 5 to 7pm. The funeral service will be at Clemmons Presbyterian Church, 3930 Clemmons Road, on Saturday at 1:30pm. Rev. Dr. William Hoyle will be officiating the services. Janice will be laid to rest at Forsyth Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Davie County Hospice, Forsyth County Hospice, of Clemmons Presbyterian Church.
